The goal of therapy is not to erase your past or become someone else—it’s to cultivate growth that honors your true self.

About Michelle

With over 15 years in the mental health field, Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut and Colorado, passionate about helping individuals uncover authentic healing and create lasting, meaningful change. She has worked across inpatient, outpatient, residential, community mental health, and non-profit settings, and now thrives in private practice, partnering with clients ready to do the deep, transformative work.

Michelle’s approach is direct, assertive, and trauma-informed, blended with compassion and support. She works best with clients who are motivated, open to digging deep, and willing to face difficult truths. Therapy isn’t about hand-holding or endless coping skills—it’s about building capacity, creating life changes, and shaping your world in alignment with your values, not just adapting to what’s around you.

While she incorporates CBT when helpful, Michelle primarily uses EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to reach deeper layers of insight. She supports neurological, psychological, behavioral, and energy-based approaches, integrating multiple pathways for healing. Her focus is on resilience, alignment, and real-life growth, not just symptom management.

Michelle naturally connects with those who are sensitive (HSP) or attuned, valuing depth, nuance, and emotional intelligence. She believes humor, lightness, and laughter—where appropriate—are vital tools for healing, keeping sessions real, down-to-earth, and human.

Animals & Pet Bereavement

Animals hold a special place in Michelle’s heart—she’s a lifelong animal lover and advocate. She has worked, volunteered, and interned in settings involving canines, rodents, horses, and dolphin-assisted therapy. She understands the profound emotional bond we share with animals and offers specialized support for pet grief and bereavement, honoring these relationships as meaningful and deeply healing.

Michelle integrates Animal-Assisted Interventions through her therapy dog, Rex, and clients are welcome to include their animals in teletherapy sessions if helpful.

She treats teletherapy with the same professionalism, structure, and focus as in-office sessions, creating a space that feels intentional and supportive.

Inclusivity & Community

Michelle supports adults on their healing journeys through complex trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, trafficking, narcissistic abuse, and histories of domestic violence. She also works with individuals shifting out of high-control spiritual or religious systems, as well as those exploring conscious, consensual, or expansive relationship dynamics including ENM and polyamory.

Her practice embraces inclusive care and cultural humility, welcoming clients across LGBTQ+ identities, BIPOC communities, and diverse relational and lifestyle experiences. She offers an attuned, trauma-informed environment that honors each person’s inner wisdom, cultural context, and capacity for healing and reconnection.

She values transparency, respect, and open communication, and works best with individuals who are punctual, engaged, and treat therapy as a priority. Boundaries are important—no-shows aren’t tolerated outside emergencies—and she believes therapy should be a space for growth, not endless hand-holding.

Why Work With Michelle

Michelle believes therapy should be a space where you feel fully accepted, not judged or second-guessing your therapist’s views. She prioritizes fit over volume and will openly refer clients if she feels another therapist might be a better match. She approaches healing with directness, compassion, and humor, guiding clients through the hard work while celebrating progress along the way.
